Cornell Cooperative Extension Dutchess County 4-H, Flourishing Farmers Program
Since 1913, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Dutchess County (CCEDC) has responded to the needs of local residents with unbiased, research-based information, tools and education that people have come to depend on and trust. The Flourishing Farmers 4-H Program is an individualized and adaptive 4-H program created specifically for youth with special needs. The goal of this program is to prepare youth of all abilities for adult life by teaching them agricultural vocational skills and life skills. A few of the skills we work on throughout this program are communication, relationship building, team work and responsibility. Our program uses experiential learning programs and a positive youth development approach to teach our members in a fun and memorable way.
